Alright! So clearly I have not wrote a devotional in probably a month. I apologize for not holding up my part of this ministry but please bear with me as I try to get back on track. Over the past couple of weeks, I have had a lot going on with me and through the midst of it all; I have neglected to talk to God about the issues that I have been going through and as a result it seems like things have just been falling apart for me.
I don’t know about ya’ll but often times I get caught up in this thing called “life” and when I feel like things are going good for me, I tend to forget to thank God or even acknowledge him before I make important decisions. When things are going smoothly for me, I tend to feel like I have everything under control and that I don’t need anyone’s help. BUT the truth of the matter is that God is my help! Without him…NOTHING would be possible!
John 15:4-5 Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me. Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.
Now pay close attention to the last sentence. “FOR APART FROM ME YOU CAN DO NOTHING.” It is important that we realize that we cannot do anything without God. Everything that we tend to look for in man we can find it in God. He is our joy, our strength, our helper, our guidance and so many more things! If we would just rely and depend on him it would make our hardships and struggles much easier to endure. Knowing that you are a child of God is knowing that you are ALWAYS going to be taken care of!! We must remain in Him so that He will remain in us!! Only then will we begin to experience all the GREAT things he has in store for us!
It is also important to pin point the issues or things that are pulling you away from God. I’m sure all of you have heard the saying…”you’re a product of your environment”. This is very true! If you are hanging around people who are not doing kingdom work then eventually you will find yourself neglecting kingdom work as well. It is important that we surround ourselves with like minded individuals; people who we can depend on to encourage us and help us remember why we were placed on this earth.
Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble.
I thank God for each and every one of you! It is because of the devotionals that we send to one another that I am able to make it through the day sometimes. These small devotionals really go a long way and many times give me the little push that I need to keep going. I am so glad that we have established this ministry so that we may help one another along this journey. I LOVE YOU ALL!!!!
